Hello! My name is Jordan and I want to tell you about my life. My mom and dad got divorced about 8 years ago, and I went into foster care with my brother and sister about 5 years ago. During that time, I have lived with six different foster families. I never felt like anyone wanted to listen to me, so I began to struggle with anger. At 14, I was sent to Rawhide to heal. I’ve been here for three months now and I realize Rawhide has been pretty good for me. I have learned that I am a helpful person, because I love working with the other boys on their school work. Therapy taught me to take a break and walk away instead of yell when I start to feel angry. The staff here have shown me so much support and I finally feel heard. They also help me with my coping skills and talk me through triggered moments. I feel I earned Student of the Month because I have grown mentally and academically. When I leave, I wish I could take the whole campus with me. I love to read, draw, make art, and craft whenever I can. I hope I can use those creative skills to become a video game developer. Thank you for allowing Rawhide to exist with your support. I am grateful for the supportive staff and hope for the future. Sincerely, Jordan Share:
